Overview.
ResellerClub, as its name implies, is a reseller of other firms' hosting services. It has over 200,000 customers in 150 countries and is based in India.
If you're concerned about ResellerClub's legitimacy, you'll be relieved to learn that it is owned by the Endurance International Group (EIG). By the way, it also controls major hosting firms such as Bluehost, HostGator, and SiteBuilder.
It also has a sizable offering. Shared Windows and Linux hosting plans, reseller hosting plans, content management system (CMS) packages, VPS and dedicated server rentals, and resold Bluehost and HostGator packages are all available.
It has offices in India and the United States, and its website is available in various languages, including English, Spanish, Turkish, and Indonesian.
I consider it is safe to presume that ResellerClub has some knowledge of hosting. The real questions, however, are:
- Is there a bundle that meets your requirements?
- Why should you go with a reseller instead of the source?
- Is customer assistance available when you require it?
- Are you getting a fair deal on the prices?
- Will your website be able to load quickly enough?
By the end of this review, you'll have your answers and know whether this is the right host for you.
Features.
ResellerClub is a large organization. From SSL certificates and domain names to SiteLock security features and an integrated cache and content delivery network, it sells everything you could need for your website (CDN).
ResellerClub not only provides free migrations but also claims to pay you to transfer your website.
Plans Types:
The amount of plans offered by ResellerClub is the first thing that strikes me about it. Whether you're a regular website owner or a reseller, there's something for everyone. Windows, Linux, Magento, WordPress, Joomla, and even Bluehost and HostGator options are available.
However, there is a significant caveat here. If you go straight to the source, the HostGator and Bluehost plans are cheaper, and the money-back guarantee is longer. Knowing this, I'm not sure why you'd choose ResellerClub to purchase these two plans.
Reseller Plans:
I couldn't write an evaluation of this company without mentioning their plans. Given its name, it's apparent that it's a big part of what it has to offer. In addition, there are Linux and Windows hosting packages available that include a fully customizable control panel, and ResellerClub is accessible to assist you with any technical concerns (though you will remain the principal point of communication for your customers).
Developer-friendly features:
While most other businesses need you to upgrade to a VPS plan, ResellerClub includes SSH access in all of its shared hosting plans. In addition, PHP up to version 7.1, Python (only earlier version 2.6.6), Ruby on Rails, and Perl are also supported.
Builders of websites:
ResellerClub offers two website-building tools: one from Weebly and another that is branded with the ResellerClub logo. Unfortunately, it's difficult to determine if the branded one is resold from another company—I spoke with support, but the agent was unsure as well. Responsive templates, a drag-and-drop editor, e-commerce functionality, and website hosting are included in the website creation package.
It's user-friendly for both beginners and developers:
Companies that sell a broad range of products can often appear overwhelming and difficult to navigate. ResellerClub, on the other hand, provides a decent balance of features while still keeping the customer in mind with its ease of use.
Create an Account:
I went with the cheapest WordPress plan available. It only comes with one domain, but with 5GB of storage, it's more than enough to get the most modest WordPress websites up and to run. It's simple to make an account, but keep an eye out for the add-ons that come pre-checked in your cart.
It carried me fewer than five minutes to choose a plan, make a payment, and set up an account. However, my account had to be validated after roughly three business days. I was instructed to confirm my payment method before waiting for the application to be approved by the abuse team. However, I'm not sure if everyone needs to go through this.
Installing WordPress and Connecting a Domain:
The WordPress setup is made a lot easier with ResellerClub. On-screen instructions are available, and vital information such as nameservers is easily accessible. Even though it is not evident how to do so, you can contact the team by active chat 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Read my step-by-step guide to installing WordPress here, and you'll be up and running in less than 10 minutes.
Backups:
ResellerClub has a comprehensive backup strategy that is constantly updated. The provider will back up your data as part of the regular hosting options, and you can request a restore for up to seven days. However, like with other hosts, make sure to read the fine print, which indicates that backups are "periodic." In addition, you can buy an extra backup plan as an add-on option if the regular backup provision isn't thorough enough for you.
Grows with you:
ResellerClub also offers VPS packages, dedicated servers, and managed server rentals when you're ready to expand your online presence. Full root access, quick setup, and a custom in-house control panel or cPanel are all included. However, if speed is crucial to you, some of the plans (such as dedicated servers) use HDD storage rather than SSD storage, which is ten times quicker.
Theme Store:
ResellerClub promotes itself as a one-stop-shop for everything web hosting. It also features a theme store with over 150 premium website themes, in addition to hosting and domain names. Each template appears to have a slight markup price, but you're paying for the ease.
Performance:
Any promise of uptime is not excessively obvious on the website. For example, some products (for example, HostGator Web Hosting) offer a 99.9% uptime guarantee, whereas others do not. I spoke with a live chat worker who confirmed that all packages include that assurance, but I'd proceed with caution since it wasn't included in the website's terms and conditions.
Regarding website performance and speed, some past customers rated ResellerClub poorly in online reviews, focusing on servers going down for days and other similar issues.
Nonetheless, I wanted to run a Sucuri page load test to see how fast the site was. With an overall grade of C, the outcomes aren't excellent. The United States, Canada, and Germany have the fastest connection speeds, while Singapore and India have the slowest.
Support.
Customer service is reachable via live chat and ticketing 24 hours a day, seven days a week. To receive help as an existing client, go to your dashboard and choose whatever topic you'd want to talk about. Then you're given the option of using live chat or submitting a support ticket. Technical questions go to the former, and billing goes to the latter, in my experience.
There's also a decent knowledge base, and you can call the company on a U.K., U.S., or Indian local number if you prefer to get support over the phone.
Pricing.
With so many plan options, ResellerClub has something for everyone. The company is at the lower end of the price spectrum than the rest of the market—but with a handful of caveats.
First and foremost, you should go straight to the source if you choose a Bluehost or HostGator package. They're less expensive and come with more excellent money-back guarantees. Second, keep an eye on the cost of the renewal. The introductory pricing is lovely, but when your contract renews, you'll see a price increase.
Payment can be performed by PayPal, credit card, or WebMoney Transfer, and there's a 30-day money-back guarantee on most of the plans.
Cancellation & Refunds:
To cancel your account, go into your dashboard and select the product you want to withdraw from the drop-down menu. A little Delete button is located beneath the product to discontinue the service. Select that, then confirm the cancellation on the next screen.
What is the cost of ResellerClub?
ResellerClub has options ranging from $2 to $4 per month. The cost is determined by the hosting plan you select. The most recent pricing table (updated weekly) can be found below.
Which ResellerClub plan should I get?
My advice is to start with a less expensive package. Later on, you can always upgrade. ResellerClub can assist you in making the switch to a more costly plan. A surge in visitors often takes longer than expected, so don't spend much money until the necessity arises. Of course, your requirements may differ, and you can seek advice from a ResellerClub hosting professional.
How good is ResellerClub's customer support?
ResellerClub isn't one of our top web hosting providers. However, this could be due to ResellerClub's status as a modest, under-the-radar hosting service. A small hosting firm has advantages; as a customer, you are more important to them.
